Employer Accreditation
Your organisation already invests in staff development. Employer accreditation turns that internal training into recognised CPD your people can record, keep and carry.
What is employer accreditation?
Employer accreditation applies the CPD standard to an organisation’s internal training. Named programmes are assessed for structure, objectives, delivery quality and record-keeping, then accredited individually so staff earn CPD hours they can evidence to a regulator or take to a future employer.
Why accredit workplace learning?
Staff in regulated and membership professions must evidence annual CPD — and much of the best learning they do happens on the job, in programmes your organisation built. Without accreditation, that effort often goes unrecorded. With it, your induction pathways, technical training and leadership programmes become CPD that counts.
Accreditation is also a recruitment and retention signal. Candidates weighing offers notice an employer whose development programme carries an independent quality mark, and existing staff see their workplace learning valued outside the building.

What we assess
- Programme structure — defined pathways rather than ad-hoc sessions
- Learning objectives — what each element equips staff to do
- Delivery and materials — quality, accuracy and consistency at scale
- Records — how completion and hours are tracked internally
What your organisation receives
- Accreditation of named internal programmes, each with its own number
- The Accredo Employer mark for careers pages and internal comms
- CPD certificates your staff can keep when they move on
- An annual review that keeps programmes current as roles evolve
Questions people ask about this
Does in-house employer training count as CPD?
Yes, internal training counts as CPD where it has defined learning objectives, a recorded duration and evidence of completion. Accrediting an internal programme makes those hours verifiable outside the organisation, so staff can carry them to a regulator or to a future employer.
What counts as CPD?
Any deliberate learning activity that develops professional competence can count as CPD: accredited courses, conferences, webinars, workshops, e-learning, structured reading, mentoring, shadowing, writing or presenting, and reflective practice. What matters is that the activity has a learning purpose and that you can evidence both the time spent and the outcome.
What providers say
Our induction programme was always good; it just was not worth anything outside the building. Now staff leave with hours they can actually record.

The assessment feedback was the useful part. Our first submission came back with three specific points about learning objectives, and fixing them made the course genuinely better — not just accreditable.

We accredit around forty courses a year. Every one gets read by a person, and we can point clients at a register entry rather than asking them to take our word for it.
