What is event accreditation?
Event accreditation assigns an independently assessed CPD hours value to a conference, seminar or workshop. Sessions are reviewed individually, breaks and networking are excluded from the hours, and approved events can issue delegates certificates that carry a verifiable accreditation number.
Why accredit an event?
For many professionals, attendance at an event only "counts" if it can be logged as CPD. Accreditation removes that friction: your programme is assessed in advance, an hours value is agreed for each accredited session, and every delegate can claim time they can defend to an employer or professional body.
For organisers, accreditation is a registration driver. It gives ticket buyers a concrete, work-justifiable reason to attend, and it gives sponsors and speakers a quality mark to stand behind.

How it works for delegates
Accredited events can issue certificates carrying the Accredo seal, the accreditation number and the CPD hours earned. Delegates can verify their certificate on our public register — useful when an employer or membership body asks for proof.
Timing
Apply early. We recommend submitting your programme at least four weeks before the event so assessment, any revisions and certificate setup are complete before your first delegate walks in.

How do I get a conference or event CPD accredited?
Submit the draft programme with session descriptions, speaker credentials and timings at least four weeks before the event. Assessment agrees a CPD hours value for the educational content — excluding breaks, meals and networking — and approved events can issue verifiable certificates to delegates.
How are CPD hours calculated?
CPD hours reflect actual learning time, excluding breaks, meals, registration and networking. A full training day is typically around six to seven CPD hours, a half-day around three, and a one-hour webinar one hour. Accredited activities have their hours value assessed independently rather than set by the provider.
How long does CPD accreditation take?
Most complete submissions to Accredo receive an initial assessment outcome within two to three weeks. Where revisions are needed, the total depends on how quickly updated materials are returned. Providers working to a launch date should submit at least four to six weeks ahead.
