Webinar Accreditation
Live and recorded webinars carry real learning — and, once assessed, real CPD hours. Give attendees something they can log, not just a replay link.
What is webinar accreditation?
Webinar accreditation is the independent assessment of a live or recorded online session against a published CPD standard. Accredo reviews the learning objectives, content, presenter credentials and attendance evidence, then assigns an assessed CPD hours value and issues a unique accreditation number.
Why accredit a webinar?
Webinars compete for an hour of a professional's working day. Accreditation changes the pitch from "this looks interesting" to "this counts towards your annual requirement" — which is a materially easier internal case for an attendee to make to a manager.
It also solves the credibility problem that free webinars carry. When there is no price signal, buyers look for another quality marker; an assessed hours value and a verifiable number supply one.
What we assess
- Learning objectives — stated up front, and actually delivered in the session
- Content — accurate, current, and pitched at a defined professional level
- Presenter credentials — subject expertise appropriate to the material
- Duration — the teaching time, excluding sign-in, promotion and open Q&A
- Attendance evidence — how you confirm who actually watched, and for how long
Series and recurring sessions
Recurring webinars can be accredited episode by episode, or as a defined season where the format and objectives are consistent across sessions. Season accreditation is cheaper per episode but requires the content plan up front; episode accreditation suits programmes where speakers and topics are booked late.
Recordings and on-demand
A recording of an accredited live session can retain its accreditation, provided completion is still evidenced — a viewing log, a short assessment, or both. Where the recording is edited down, the hours value is re-assessed against the shorter runtime.

What providers say
The assessment feedback was the useful part. Our first submission came back with three specific points about learning objectives, and fixing them made the course genuinely better — not just accreditable.

Turnaround was quicker than we planned for, and when we needed a revision the assessor told us exactly what to change rather than sending a form letter.

We accredit around forty courses a year. Every one gets read by a person, and we can point clients at a register entry rather than asking them to take our word for it.

Questions people ask about this
Can online and e-learning courses be CPD accredited?
Yes. Self-paced e-learning, live webinars, recorded sessions and blended programmes are all eligible for CPD accreditation. The requirement is not the delivery format but that learning time can be evidenced and completion verified — typically through platform tracking, an assessment, or both.
How are CPD hours calculated?
CPD hours reflect actual learning time, excluding breaks, meals, registration and networking. A full training day is typically around six to seven CPD hours, a half-day around three, and a one-hour webinar one hour. Accredited activities have their hours value assessed independently rather than set by the provider.
How much does CPD accreditation cost?
Accredo provider registration is free. Activity accreditation is priced per item and published openly: courses from GBP 295, e-learning from 345, webinars from 175, events from 395, podcasts from 95 per episode, publications from 145 per article, and trainer accreditation from 145 per year. Renewal is 60% of list.
