What is CPD accreditation?
Short answer
CPD accreditation is independent confirmation that a learning activity meets a published quality standard. An assessor with no commercial stake in the activity checks its objectives, content accuracy, structure, duration and completion evidence, then issues a unique accreditation number that anyone can verify on a public register.
Accreditation exists because "CPD" is not a protected term. Anyone may describe a video as CPD; accreditation is what separates the claim from the checked.
For learners it means the stated hours can be defended to a regulator. For providers it means credibility that did not have to be asserted, and a mark that can be verified rather than trusted. For employers commissioning training, it narrows the field before procurement begins.
