Can online and e-learning courses be CPD accredited?

Short answer

Yes. Self-paced e-learning, live webinars, recorded sessions and blended programmes are all eligible for CPD accreditation. The requirement is not the delivery format but that learning time can be evidenced and completion verified — typically through platform tracking, an assessment, or both.

For self-paced material, assessors look closely at the relationship between the stated hours and the actual content volume. A course claiming six hours that a typical learner completes in ninety minutes will be revised down.

Completion evidence matters as much as content. A course that anyone can skip to the end of, and still receive a certificate from, does not meet the evidence test regardless of how good the material is.
