How do I record my CPD?
Short answer
Record each activity with six fields: date, title, provider, format, CPD hours, and a short reflection on what changed in your practice. Attach the certificate or accreditation number as evidence. Update the record within a week of the activity — reconstructed records are the most common audit failure.
Many professional bodies provide an online CPD log; where they do, use it, because the format will match what the auditor expects. Where they do not, a simple spreadsheet with those six columns is sufficient and far more durable than a folder of PDFs.
Keep the evidence for as long as your body specifies — commonly the current cycle plus one to six years. Certificates carrying a verifiable accreditation number are the strongest form of evidence, because the auditor can confirm them without contacting you.
