Can freelance trainers and coaches be CPD accredited?
Short answer
Yes. Trainer accreditation is a personal credential assessing subject expertise, delivery capability, professional conduct and the trainer's own CPD. It belongs to the individual rather than to any employer, agency or platform, and travels with them from client to client.
Many independents hold both a provider registration for the business they invoice through and a personal trainer accreditation for the work they deliver. The two answer different questions: one is about the organisation, the other about the practitioner.
For trainers who deliver under other people's brands, the personal credential is often the more valuable of the two, because it is the part of the reputation that stays with them.
